2011 NHRA Divison 4 South Central Schedule

Each year the NHRA and Lucas Oil team up to offer sportsmen racers the opportunity to compete in division for the right to go to the last race of the year in Pamona California. This year is no different.

Each of these races allows BDR Racing and Team Nitrousfitz to compete against the best sportsmen racers in the South Central region of the United States and competitors from other divisions. Each race is a full weekend of racing with traveling. Being at the track first and last means you went prepared and you left a winner. 2011 is poised to be the best year yet for BDR racing and the drivers for Team Nitrousfitz.

The following races have been scheduled for 2011 in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series challenge for 2011.

"The Good Guys" Division 4 South Central region of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) sponsored American drag racing circuit will compete:

March 4-6 Houston Raceway Park Houston, Texas
April 15-17 Texas Motorplex Dallas, Texas
May 27-29 No Problem Raceway Park Belle Rose, La.
June 10-12 Tulsa Raceway Park Tulsa, Okla.
September 16-18 Huston Raceway Park Houston, Texas
October 7-9 Thunder Valley Raceway Park

Houston Nitrous Refill Nitrous Bottle Refills in Tomball Texas

"That's right, if you didn't guess something was up, then you weren't really guessing now were you.."

For over the past twenty years, there has been a drag racer in the Fitzhenry family of BDR Racing and Team Nitrousfitz. This year, progress has been the addition of new team members over the '08-'09 season that has enabled them to introduce a new resource for Houston Nitrous Refills and Nitrous Bottle Refill services in Houston and Tomball Texas. This is a new service and becasue of that we recommend that you read this information and then contact me directly at nitrousfitz@powerfitz.com for a fast reply to your questions. "Either way, you're gonna have to talk to me on email to get your nitrous bottles filled in Houston to go drag racing in the Houston area.

"But how do I get you to fill my bottles?"

You need to contact me by email so that we can set up a time to get your Houston nitrous oxide bottles filled or refilled.

"Are you easy to reach online?"

Yes, I will personally answer any emails with "Nitrous" in the subject line within twelve hours of delivery to my inbox at nitrousfitz@powerfitz.com.

Bead Blasting

This year you can get personalized bead blasting services for any part small enough to fit into our new bead blasting cabinet. The service will be performed by me, an expert in car care and part restoration, for less than you would think.

If you are in Houston, you can get the customer support you have been looking for from someone like me. Racing in and around Texas with BDR RACING and Team Nitrousfitz located right outside Houston, in Tomball, TX.

"There is no computer to take your call."

"There is no one who can help you but me."

"I work all weekend, every weekend with three different performance drag racing engines with BDR Racing and Team Nitrousfitz." "Start getting your stuff done with us, and you will get more stuff than you expected in the end."

BDR Racing | Team Nitrousfitz | Updates for this week in February 02/08/10

Next weekend we'll be watching NHRA from California, and pulling a transmission from the Top Dragster (@topdragster on Twitter) 4200. This in preparation for the best year on record for BDR Racing and Team Nitrousfitz, the online stream of information from a local NHRA division 4 drag race team from Houston.

The Top Sportsman (@topsportsman on Twitter) 706ci BB Chevy Corvette just finished fabrication the new plenum scoop plate that will increase airflow significantly. Testing the new part will commence next month at Houston Raceway Park's March test and tune (see a previous post for the time and date).

Our Top Pro 4550 (@racinga468 on twitter) is ready to begin bracket racing (ET) in March as well. This year expect to see this car in the winner's circle more than once in 2010. The race to be the best doesn't stop in Texas, it stops in California.

Other than that, the work that began a few months ago at the end of the 2009 NHRA drag race season is coming to and end. The work we did this off season will propel the team even farther this year.

The biggest races this year will be the two NHRA national events which will have top sportsman and top dragster in the line up. Keep watching as we get closer to a National event in Houston for Top Dragster and a NHRa national event in Dallas which will feature top sportsman.

I recommend that you become friends with the author on Facebook to see images and videos of the 2009 season.

Pamona 2010 (14 days and counting)

Pamona 2010 Kicks off the Full Throttle NHRA Drag Race Season in 14 days

You know it. The NHRA is back on again in fourteen days and that means that for Team Nitrousfitz and B&D Racing, the season is just a few short weeks away. Right now, the off season was filled with things to do. "It looks like the season will have it's own obstacles too, new and old. The Chevelle project is moving, but appears not to be finished by the time the 2010 drag racing begins for the three drivers and their team at Team Nitrousfitz and B&D Racing. Both dragster came off the end of last year with solid runs. SP4550 is ready right out of the box to win the first race a Houston Raceway Park. The News is big this year and the opportunity is great.

If you didn't know it, the NHRA is introducing Top Sportsman and Top Dragster to the lineup of races at National NHRA drag races. This makes it possible for two out of the three drivers of Team Nitrousfitz to have a showing at a national event this year. The registration procedures are making it hard for us to get in the race, but if this pattern continues, we will surely find our way into all the division 4 national events that feature either the Top Sportsman or Top Dragster classes. "It's what the team was built up to do, to get into the races involves having good results at other divisional events and attendance at more circuit races throughout the year.

We will be watching when we can, and racing when we can, all year. Come and say hello! Give us a shout out on your own blog, or just come back and read what else is going on down here in Texas. We're "Racing for Money" in the NHRA with three different class vehicles, Super Pro 4550, Top Sportsman 46 (2009), and Top Dragster 4200, Team Nitrousfitz.

Getting on with NHRA 2010

We're waiting for the last minute I guess. The work that is going to be poured into the team this year is just now getting straight in my head. What, with all the other work that went on during the off-season, the new year of racing is just about here and we look forward to getting all the cars back on the track as soon as they are ready. "So, who's ready?"

Super Pro competitor 4550, Robin Walsh is ready. Her dragster had a great year last year and the driver is getting more seat time and experience at winning against some of the best competitors in Texas. So let's get going with the going already..

The other two vehicles will still need some hand time before either one gets a pass down the track. The 662 needs to have the transmission pulled and set for a new trans-lock solenoid. This dragster has run some of the quickest qualifying times against the best of the West, but this year will prove to be a year for wins and no losses.

The 7065 BB Top Sportsman entrant had some extensive work done to the plenum under the hood scoop. What might have been lacking previously is an amount of air volume inside the scoop to be available when getting to the top end of the track. Look for faster time trials than ever before with this high quality drag vehicle maintained and driven by team leader B Fitzhenry. Look for the whole team to come together this year and pull out some high quality wins, even at the first of the national NHRA events to host Top Sportsman and Top Dragster in 2010.

The Power Letter was created by FD Walsh, crew member and teammate to the whole B&D Racing family of drivers and equipment. 2010 is the year we've been waiting for.

NHRA South Florida Test and Tune 01/2010

The 2010 NHRA season is close enough to its beginning for the best teams in Top Fuel dragster and Nitro Fuel Funny cars to go down to South Florida for some test and tune runs. The biggest news coming out of the practice is Larry Dixon's 3.76, 322.22mph at the 1000' stripe, making it the fastest recorded run within the new 1000' track length.

The Al-Anabi dragster tuned by Alan Johnson, formerly of Schumacher, looks to be on top this year if anyone can catch them then maybe Schumacher and Brown can. This year look for faster runs but also some bigger problems when these teams reach their limit on their way to the championship of 2010.

Houston Raceway Park to Hold March Test Session

www.DragRaceHose.com

Houston Raceway Park will be offering a March Test and Tune session for NHRA, ADRL, and IHRA teams. The track has been using the off season to make the facility even bigger and better than before. While some improvements to the streets and highways surrounding the track are still being worked out, the owners have announced the addition of it's new media facility and convention type meeting amenities. Now that more sponsors can find a reason to bring clients and fans of their company out to the track to see the competitions, more and more local and national companies will be searching for an opportunity to place their name on some of the best teams in the region.

Look for B&D Racing to bring their team out to the track for a weekend of Top Sportsman and Top Dragster time trials and tuning for the up-coming NHRA national season which will feature the addition of Top Sportsman and Top Dragster into the national event lineup in Houston and Dallas this year.

1969 Chevrolet Malibu 307 OEM Tonawanda Chevy Team (Engine & Transmission Pull)

Well, we're bound and determined to find something to do through the end of this seson and into the off-season here at Nitrousfitz Racing HQ. Here's a little diddy about a virtually mint condition 1969 Chevrolet Malibu 307. Very limited miles (under 50,000), but needing to have a number of original gaskets and linings replaced to eliminate leaking from the oil pan and the transmission pan. The vehicle looks original. Paint and body and trim are all VF12 with some chips and dings in a still clear finish. Here are some shots from today's work and the images that we will compare when finished.

I will list the three manuals that we have from 1969. Return for the latest update or subscribe here.

Where will we go from here?

It's not about where you been (except prison), but where you're going.
Powerfitz.com is pushing forward into 2010 with new goals and ambitions
for the brands that fall under the Powerfitz umbrella. Nitrousfitz,
Over and Out, PartyLetter, PowerLetter, and the Holiday Letter are
going to be updated and monitored throught the rest of 2009 and into
the future.

Current trends for Powerfitz fall into the 'Social
Media' category. Now, the author of all these blogs can be followed on
Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/fuzzywashere
The hope that as more and more fresh content is added to the blog rolls
of Powerfitz.com, new friends will soon follow. The most promising
output has come from the Wordpress blog hosted on the server of
Powerfitz.com 'Over and Out'. The renewed focus on this platform, and
the Facebook interactive, will motivate the author to produce even more
content, reports, and stories for the fans of Powerfitz.com and the
blog roll generated from Powerfitz.com. I recommend that my new friends
register as a user for 'Over and Out' to be able to interact and recommend directly with the author.

The news goes like this:

First,
the latest Division 4 NHRA Sportsman event for TS46 and TD4200 was less
than fruitful. Both entries were out of the competition after the first
round, and due to the resulting points standing, TS46's season is over.
The bright side to this uneventful event is our Super Pro entry SP4550,
driven by Mrs. Walsh. She stands 4th in points for her track bracket
championship, and a trip to the Division 4 bracket finals in Ennis, TX
will be her opportunity for an invitation to Pamona in the winter.

Once
the bracket finals are over, Houston raceway Park will be making up two
different bracket races, including a double points race which could
push our SP4550 into the top point position going into next year. Leave
the driver a comment or a 'Way to go' by typing out a couple nice words
below this post.

All drag racing should wrap up in November with a Thanksgiving race at Pine Valley Raceway near Lufkin, TX.

The
social media side of Powerfitz.com continues to see a large jump in
followers, friends, and comments to the content we produce. Facebook,
Twitter, and the Wordpress blog 'Over and Out' are being viewed by
thousands of visitors daily. Look for a re-organization of Google
Adsense listings and a better ROI after the latest updates to the site
and blogs.

Welcome to eveyone who finds this news fresh and
ready to duplicate. We recommend you leave us your thoughts so that we
can come and see what you're doing, and how we can join forces into the
future. The news is good, and good news is what we like to produce.

NHRA Division 4 & The Bracket Finals Debockle

Houston Raceway Park should find a better way of developing a successful schedule before the forums get carried away with themselves. Seth Angel is the man who has the say, but so many are talking about a lack of direction that it seems the Angels need more than one man to combat the bad press. The context of the argument lies with what the weather did to the final race of the year. It washed it out. As the weather slowly went from good to bad so did the feelings around the end of the season, the King of the Track, and the Bracket finals team. The team is scheduled to compete in Ennis TX in two weeks, no time to make up nothing. Even if the track might want you to believe it could do something about the weather.

As the weekend turned into the week, everyone who had competed in the Houston Raceway Bracket season in 2009 had an opinion. What, with the double points races that really set the whole season in the wrong direction. Who's complaining? Well to tell you the truth, not me. We're just fine. But it would have been nice to get the last race in and go for a win to get into the King of the Track, the Race of Champions, or whatever they're calling it. It's just bracket racing, right?

Hell No, it's not just this season. It's about years of dedication to a sport and a facility through the entry fees and the years spent on it's hot pavement. People care because they invest a lot to have a right to care about it. A facility who cares for it's members should also know how to deliver a decision in a timely, and informed manner. Forget about the forums for a minute and just listen before you speak.

So, as the final bracket race at Houston raceway Park has been washed out and a rescheduled race to occur in October (after the bracket finals mind you), the team is ready to go to Ennis and win the event for an invitation to Pomona. Forget about what she said about he said about nothing. Just pray to god that the management team over at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown Texas can give back enough effort to satisfy the competitors who in reality support their business everytime they bring an entry to the NHRA division 4 bracket and ET races.

We're fourth in points and noone asked us about it anyways. We had every chance to win. Especially after the first reschedule was posted, and then removed, and then posted and removed again before "The Decision" was handed down from the Angels (sounds heavenly). We're going to Ennis to win. They can talk about it after we do. Maybe they'll even have a new race just for us.. ha.

Division four events get back underway in Bella Rose Louisiana this weekend. Now that Houston Raceway Park has settled the dilema of where are we racing and how are we going to be in two places at once, we can just concentrate on getting TS46 and TD4200 into the winner circle for a great end of season push to the finals.

No Problems Raceway will be holding down the NHRA fort for Division four Top Sportsman and Top Dragster competitors. Look for the results next week.

Final Push to the End of the NHRA, Division 4 Season for Team Nitrousfitz

Division 4 Points

Top Sportsman

TS46 is currently 20th in points out of 57

Top Dragster

TD4200 is currently 23rd in points out of 81

Houston Raceway Park

Super Pro

SP4550 is currently 4th in points out of 64

Our racing schedule really kicks into high gear now that the weather is expected to cool down just enough to produce the best racing conditions we'll see all year. Expected elapsed times include 6.78 for TS46, 6.69 for TD4200, and 8.32 for SP4550.

September 12th and 13th is our next event for SP4550. The whole team understands that now is the time to get everything ready for the invitational bracket finals in Ennis, TX two weeks after this coming weekend's event. Fourth in points is a great way to take the bracket team into the Texas Motorplex for this year's bracket finals. Winner gets an invitation to California. Keep an eye out for the results as they happen over the next few weeks!

The NHRA Divisional races get back underway the weekend of September 18, 19, and 20. Both Divisional entrants of our team sit just below where they would like to be come the end of the year. TS46 is 20th and TD4200 is 23rd. With wins in each class giving out 100's of points, 20th is not a bad place to be when everything goes your way at the track. This is the year before the team goes to the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. Being competitive in the national events takes a consistent career in divisionals and our goal is to take advantage of every event we go to.

John Force says 'Enough is Enough' to Tony Pedregon

John Force is what the NHRA is all about. Period.

This past weekend in Indianapolis the U.S. Nationals were contested for the 55th year at O'Reilly Raceway Park. This yearly NHRA event is 'The One'. A drag racing event that every race fan and drag racer looks to attend at least once in their life. The weekend was long and the racing was great. If you were watching the 55th running of the NHRA U.S. Nationals like we were, then you saw John Force prove why his fans love him and hate everyone else.

John Force Racing

During the Nitro Fuel Funny Car elimination rounds, John Force competed against Robert Hight, a JFR vehicle. Winning the round would put another JFR vehicle in the chase for the NHRA Nitro Fuel Funny Car class championship. Some might think that the decision is an easy one but NHRA rules say that there can be no 'laying down' during an event.

John and Robert raced heads-up. During the race John's Ford went into tire spin and sent him toward the wall. Robert took the win and the last place in the chase for a championship. No problem, right? Wrong. No one likes a winner, right? Or no one likes a sore loser, right? If you love John Force, you love him wether he wins OR loses. The Pedregons might find that people follow John Force because they respect him for how he plays the game.

It must be nice to work all your life and let people talk smack about you, your career, and your work within the NHRA. Let's not forget that John Force has not only given himself to the sport, but his entire family. His daughters, wife, and the other members of the family who race along side him. Let's not forget that his message is heard more than any other competitor when he speaks to the media. Let's us not also forget that we love a winner, and hate sore losers. Bite it Mr. Pedregon, that's how the cookie crumbles.

Hot Under the Collar

It's not just the heat of competition, but the heat of the season. Summer for the NHRA Division 4 drag racers is always hot. Southern states have to perform high quality passes under the high demand of slippy tracks and timing programs gone awry. The story of how one gets through the summer months of racing down South is to go with the flow and bring along a couple of pop-up shelters to keep the sun off the back of your neck.

Nitrousfitz Racing has been performing well under the pressure. If it not for the great driving of our 4550 Super Pro dragster the season might seem to be slipping away. But that's just because it's Summer down here and the long break from the heat is about to commence. With a third of the season behind us, here's where the competitors stand.

Next weekend will be the third bracket race for the Super Pro dragster. Having gone three rounds in both races at the last meet, R. Walsh maintains her second point ranking for the Houston Raceway Park bracket team. The upcoming race could easily be won by this consistent package of car, engine, and driver.

TS46 has had the motor and transmission out now for 3 weeks. Sending the motor in after the last competition has meant that the crew has been busy revamping the second stage of nitrous. A poor transmission tail housing created a crack that lead to a loss of vacuum in the engine and a lean condition developed into blown head gaskets. The transmission is back and we wait for the engine to be deliver in the coming days. July 25th will be the next divisional race in Baytown, Texas where both sportsman entrants will be ready to take the win light from start to finish.

TD4200 also has has problems related to the Powerglide transmission. The talk around the shop has been whether to have a long time friend begin to do the rebuild instead of the current vendor. Looks like we'll be getting the extra special treatment for a while as that decision has been made and it is hoped that those problems are behind us.

So, this season is much like any other. While last year saw a big win in the beginning of the year, it looks like all the stars will be aligned for Team Nitrousfitz Racing once the cooler weather sets in and we get to take a July win into the second half of the season.

Who's hot under the collar? Not me. Just keep the this Texas summer sun from baking my neck and everything will be fine.

P.S.

Thanks to Ashley Force and Robert Hight for taking a moment to sign our stuff.
